Profile of the Institution :
  Government Polytechnic, Aurangabad (GPA) founded in 1955, is one of the oldest institutes dedicated to technical education. GPA is ideally situated in nucleus of industrial belt at Aurangabad, Waluj, Paithan, Shendra and well connected by road, railway and airway network. GPA prides itself for locating among the historic surrounding of Ajantha & Ellora caves and Daulatabad Fort. It is one of the seven autonomous institutions in the Maharashtra state. The GPA has a long history, rich in industrial base of Aurangabad; its evolution began in 1955 with 60-intake capacity, which later became institute offering Diploma programmes (full-time & part-time) in conventional and emerging areas.
           Government of Maharashtra has recognized the efforts of the institution in the field of technical education and community development by awarding the institute as "Best Polytechnic Award" in 1996.

  • To introduce flexible Diploma programme to cater the multidirectional need of the industry.
  • To make the instructional process more effective by adopting various strategies.
  • To engage in periodic self-assessment leading to improvement.
